Meet Our Team

Don Odom a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Special Forces and the 82nd Airborne Division. He is a certified NRA Basic Firearms Instructor, and has certified in NRA Basic Pistol, Rifle, and Personal Protection in the Home courses. Don also has certification in “Hate in America Today: A National Overview of Far-Right Domestic Terrorism”; as well as The Use of Force, Shotgun, and Pepper Spray. He has also certified in firearms and self-defense on various and numerous training courses throughout his military, security and law enforcement career, which spans over 40 years. Don has a vast knowledge of SCARS – Special Combat Aggressive Reactionary Systems and is an expert in Hand to Hand and Hand to Weapon Self-Defense. He is also a certified Personal Protection Specialist and has been teaching Self-Defense and Crime Prevention Awareness for 20 years. Don holds a Bachelor Degree from The University of South Alabama and an Associate Degree from Bishop State Community College.  He is also a member of the Safety Ministries Alliance of Alabama. Most recently, Don attended and graduated from a Four-Day Defensive Handgun Course at FRONT SIGHT Firearms Training Academy near Las Vegas, NV.  Below is his certificate of completion:

Marie Odom is a professional businesswoman that discovered a love for training during her career.  As she traveled to meet with clients, she became acutely aware of the importance of personal safety for women.  She now holds certifications in Basic Pistol, Personal Safety Awareness instruction and in Self-Defense techniques. Marie holds a Bachelor Degree from The University of Montevallo. She is a strong advocate for The Well Armed Woman and also a member of the Saftey Ministries Alliance of Alabama.

Lauren Jones teaches our BEAR Cubs program. Lauren holds a Bachelor Degree from The University of Montevallo in Elementary Education.
